General Information We utilize computational and statistical methods, including statistical machine learning, statistical physics, and computer simulation, to model disease transmission within infected individuals (with-host studies) and across population levels (between-host studies) and optimize the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of public health interventions, including vaccination and drug treatment. Most of our projects are completed using R, Python, or MATLAB programming languages. To gain a better understanding of the projects our group works on, consider reading some of our papers along with their corresponding code. Opportunities for Postdocs or Senior Research Assistants I may have available funding, though I have not posted any official positions. However, I am always interested in hearing from qualified candidates. If you hold a Ph.D. in computer science, applied mathematics, network science, physics, biostatistics, or a closely related field and are interested in our group, please email me. The email should include your CV and a brief research statement describing your past work and future research goals. If you are willing to share details about your background or identity, I encourage you to do so. Our aim is to build an inclusive and diverse community. Opportunities for PhD students, Master’s Students and Research Assistants We are currently recruiting Ph.D. and Master's students. However, I cannot guarantee that the position will be vacant when you apply. If you are interested in the work of our group and would like to join us, please get in touch with me before applying. We also recruit research assistants whose primary responsibility is to assist us in completing research projects. Regardless of which of the three positions you are interested in applying for, you should have either already obtained or be on the verge of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in computer science, applied mathematics, network science, physics, biostatistics, or a closely related field. Feel free to email me your CV along with a brief research statement describing your past work. Other Opportunities I occasionally have programs suitable for short-term academic exchange researchers or students seeking internships. If you are interested in our research, please feel free to contact me. Contact Information For general inquiries about CS-EPI Group and the opportunities in our group, email us. |
